Actress Mageina Tovah Plays "Module" For Degeneracy: A Love Letter (Part 2)
Some of you might recall the collaborative book project I've been working on for some time now with my pal Amanda Brooks?
Whelp, it's still happening... and here's an impromptu video clip made during our shoot for the photograph to accompany one of the stories. Actually, it'd be more precise if I said *half* the image, since we've imagined the end result for this visual narrative to be a collision of two moments: in one, a flash from when the character Maya was living the proverbial 'high life'—back when things were shimmering, warm and bright—superimposed over this, the second juncture of when life is pitched high...though in the opposite direction this time.
The intended juxtaposition of the end result? To communicate the notion of what it's like when
"the good times are killing [someone]." There has to be a glamour, an allure...without it, there's no balance for the places one ends up. The desperate, the grotesque.
But gaaah, how my carpal tunnel is currently killing ME!
