Re: ME, THE GRAMMY'S and "BigShotLive.com"

Yes, I know my episode has been difficult to find. That's why I took down my blogs everywhere yesterday...there's only so many hundreds of confused/frustrated friends sending me missives until I lose my final strands of sanity.

Today's update re: my only somewhat embarrassing experience? Cut and paste this address (since uh, most of us know that "linking out" of most social networking sites rarely work anymore)...

http://www.bigshotlive.com/?item_id=8325&item_type=Video

This should take you to the "splash" page of the site. Type in your zip code and enter; then make sure you click "T.V. Host" among the categories.

If you have any luck-- or, rather, if *I* have any luck-- that's how you should be able to see my video. Regardless of how I've been edited (trust me: I got more than one "shout out"-- not to mention props from Chaka Kahn, interviews with Aretha Franklin, and other phenomenal footage that wasn't shown), I'm still grateful for the experience.

Clicking the green "thumbs up" in the lower left hand corner would be helpful... but hell, I've already asked a lot of you guys.

Thanks for your patience and support. And since I know some of you have now entered as contestants, I wanna encourage you to GO FOR IT! I'm sure the prizes will continue to be great-- if not better.

Plus, who doesn't want a freebie trip to Hollywood? ;)

MAKE IT HAPPEN, PEEPS!

Oh and, BOTH AUDREY AND MATTHEW HAVE COME IN REALLY, REALLLLY CLOSE EACH WEEK. IT'D BE COOL IF THEY ALSO WON-- Naw mean?

WONDER TRIPLET POWERS: ACTIVATE!

February 12, 2008

The 2008 Grammy's, Red Carpet Commentary, and... ME?

That'd be a HELL YEAH!

Obviously, this wasn't an everyday occurence, but rather my “win” for coming in first place in the category of “T.V. Host,” the first week of BigShotLive.com’s national talent search.

This little thing called the ‘internet’ that some managers, agents, and T.V. execs have scoffed about in terms of significance?

Well, I had a T.V. camera behind me, a “lipstick cam” beside me, and A-List celebrities speaking with me because of it.

My response to all the doubters and haters who’ve discouraged me for being too “left of center,” “too much,” “too pushy” or (inflected, of course, rife with sarcasm) “too hip”?

You’re right!

If it weren’t for your antiquated thinking, I wouldn’t be so damn hard-headed.

Plus there wouldn’t be tourists sites for me to recommend:

THE LA BREA TAR PITS, DINOSAURS.

This swishy, wildly-opinionated, flamboyantly-dressed (thank you, Jared Gold!) queer boy from a small town Sunday night interviewed everyone from Aretha Franklin--celebrated artist of the year—to John Mayer, from Chaka Kahn and Chris Brown to country crooner and shirtless pin-up hunk John Paisley, from Michelle Williams (as in: final line-up, Destiny’s Child: whose solo album drops this summer) who complimented me directly into the camera for doing a “great job” (though, TRUST: the first interview of the night was anything BUT the case) to Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment (translation: my version of a rock star, as I’m a burgeoning writer/producer in T.V. land)…who turned and walked to me in the press line-up and said, “Dude, you’re a rock star.” He complimented my outfit, gave me an interview—after blowing off journalists from mainstream magazines (whose names I’d rather not mention, as they were surprisingly helpful and supportive)—and, I’ve gotta tell ya: having an executive producer as young and visionary as HE is give me props? An executive producer on “30 Days,” “The Office,” and “Ugly Betty” who was not only deemed an ‘iconoclast’ in 2007 by the Sundance Channel, but who’s also worked his way up the ranks on The Peacock by taking risks and staying true to himself?

In this city where the last two weeks of my life have been rife with some of both “the best and the worst”?

The timing couldn’t have been better.

Thanks to those of you who’ve stuck by me during my most manic, tempestuous of times. (I know; I know—there’ve been SO FEW!) ;) If it weren’t for you all, I would’ve packed my bags and left with my tail between my legs YEARS ago, I’m sure…

And if you feel otherwise?

Please:

I invite you to remove yourself from my friends' list now, and have a great life. I’d rather not expend the doubt, time, nor negative energy of my own to scour a list here-- or elsewhere-- and “cast anyone out.”

I’m interested in what’s going ON, and coming UP.

Again, thanks everyone… and if any of you choose to enter this on-going on-line competition?

I wish the very best of luck.

FEBRUARY 8, 2008: UPDATE

Regarding:

I STILL NEED YOUR VOTE AT:

www.bigshotlive.com

It takes a bit of effort at first...
but once you register (and deem yourself either a "fan"-- i.e., someone who'll just be voting-- or "talent" -- as in, if planning on uploading and entering the contest yourself) the first time, it's fairly easy from there on out.

PLEASE NOTE THIS VERY IMPORTANT RULE:
YOU CAN ONLY VOTE ONCE PER CONTESTANT, PER DAY!
IF YOU VOTE MORE THAN ONCE FOR THAT SAME CONTESTANT,
IT AUTOMATICALLY "CANCELS ITSELF OUT."

HOWEVER, JUST TO BE CLEAR:
YOU CAN VOTE FOR 72 DIFFERENT PEOPLE IN ONE DAY, IF YOU WANT...

BUT MORE THAN ONCE FOR ANY OF THOSE 72?
MAKES IT ALL FOR NAUGHT.

(And with all the effort we've put into our videos-- along with begging/bugging y'all to assist-- that'd be a mighty sad thing to happen, indeed...)

That being said,
ONCE YOU'RE IN THE SITE,
HERE'S HOW TO HELP "MAKE THE MAGIC HAPPEN..."

(insert sparkly-teethed smile around here)

To find me via the search option, I'm under "Clint Catalyst" in the category of T.V. Host.

There are seven different categories listed in a bar across the top.
(Starting with "Modeling" on Monday...)

ONCE YOU'VE "DOUBLE-CLICKED" AND ARE CERTAIN YOU'RE IN THE CORRECT CATEGORY,

THAT'S WHEN YOU CANWATCH ME HUMILIATE MYSELF IN MY SUBMISSION VIDEO.

WHEN IT ENDS?
*THEN* CLICK THE GREEN "THUMBS UP" SYMBOL.
(THAT'S WHEN YOUR VOTE ACTUALLY COUNTS FOR SOMETHING...)

If you're burning time at a day job,
or just puttin' on a bit of 'philanthropist':

It'd be cool if you were to  help out my friends
(whom I completely endorse, and hope you do too!):

"Audrey Kitching" is in the modeling category
and
"Matthew Lush" is listed under acting.
.

THIS IS A WEEKLY CONTEST, SO PLEASE FEEL FREE TO KEEP VOTES A-COMIN' FOR THE THREE OF US...

But insofar as the results from Week #1?

I CANNOT THANK Y'ALL ENOUGH! I'm stoked, and really, really, really grateful.
